James S. Pellen

Managing Partner

James, the Managing Partner at Hertz Herson, has over 25 years of public and private accounting experience, including over 20 years with the firm, providing strategic accounting and tax advisory services to clients in a diverse business spectrum. This includes apparel and textile, distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, retail, international tax, information technology, food industries, and consumer products. James has extensive consulting experience in mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, corporate financing, organizational structure, corporate tax, and international activities including cross-border acquisition and tax transactions. In addition to his client responsibilities, James is the chairman of the firm’s accounting and auditing committee responsible for technical compliance issues.

Brian J. Gloznek

Partner

Brian, a Partner at Hertz Herson, has been with the firm for over 35 years. His practice emphasis is in the High-Net-Worth and Estate & Trusts tax group. His disciplinary focus is consulting, planning, and strategic implementation services for high-net-worth individuals, estates and trusts, tax exempt organizations, international tax, US non-resident tax compliance, commercial business entities, and fiduciary accountings.

Eli Perl

Partner

Eli, a Partner at Hertz Herson, began his career with the firm and has over 10 years of experience in public accounting. Eli provides auditing, business consulting, and tax services to clients in a wide variety of industries including apparel, manufacturing, real estate, and financial services. Eli’s broad knowledge base allows him to help clients navigate all aspects of their business including mergers and acquisitions, startup ventures, tax planning, cash flow, and projection analysis.

Vincent J. Oliva

Partner

Vince, a Partner at Hertz Herson, has more than 30 years of experience as a certified public accountant. He specializes in multiple comprehensive areas of tax compliance, planning, and consulting for private businesses and individuals.
Prior to joining Hertz Herson, Vince served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County and as an Assistant United States Attorney and also spent time in the private sector helping clients deal with securities and financial issues. Vince is a member of the Bar in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Colorado and is a member of the American Bar Association.

Daniel R. Kaufman

Partner

Daniel R. Kaufman, a Partner at Hertz Herson, has over 20 years of accounting experience. Prior to joining the firm, he was the Managing Partner of the CPA firm Nathan Kaufman Accountants & Advisors LLC in Avon, Connecticut. Daniel is the firm’s practice leader for Client Accounting Services where he focuses on helping entrepreneurs lead a life of significance through careful management of their financial resources. Additionally, he provides high-net-worth clients strategic tax planning services, and business valuation services.

For over two decades, Daniel has served diverse businesses and individuals ranging in size and complexity. His experience provides the skill to assist today’s entrepreneurial business owners in navigating the increasingly complex business landscape and achieving peace of mind.

Daniel earned a business valuation certification from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts in 2004. He received accreditation in Business Valuation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2006. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. As a member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, he served as Chair of the audit committee and Assistant Treasurer.
