John is a Quality Control Partner at Hertz Herson and has over 19 years of experience, including 7 years with the firm. Prior to his time with Hertz, John spent 12 years at Big Four accounting firms (Arthur Andersen and PwC) in their audit/assurance practice. He focused primarily on privately held companies – both family-owned and private equity portfolio companies. He was involved in auditing numerous acquisitions and divestures. He was also involved in three different initial public offerings. Included in his tenure at PwC was a rotation with the National Office’s Audit Methodology group, where he worked on a team responsible for revising the U.S. private company core audit program.
John has worked during his career with middle market companies performing audits, consulting projects and as a Quality Control Partner. Working directly with entrepreneurs, John assisted clients with numerous complex transactions, including but not limited to: financial due diligence on potential acquisitions, financial projections for lenders, budgeting, financial analysis and modeling, and shareholder redemption computations. John has extensive experience across an array of industries including: consumer products, industrial products, apparel, manufacturing, distributors, importers, services, law firms, broker-dealers, and education.
